• Anticlimax Boss: Ekans and Koffing take a level in badass by evolving into Arbok and Weezing respectively, with Jessie and James making a big deal about their boost in strength... and then they're effortlessly beaten by the Diglett and Dugtrio mob before even hitting Ash's Pokemon. Given that this is Team Rocket of course, the writers were deliberately invoking this trope to be funny.
