  • Good Bad Bugs: It's possible, with the "nudge" buttons, to get the ball to hop back onto a flipper if the ball has fallen down one of the outlanes. Since there is no tilt function in the game, the rational action when the ball is in either far drain is to rapidly shake the table and hope for the best. Pinball purists will note that this is similar to a Real Life gameplay mechanic called the "Death Save" — if you sharply nudge the table as it's rolling into the drain, you might be able to make it hop back onto a flipper...
  • Sequel Difficulty Drop: The time limits in Ruby and Sapphire are longer than in the original game.
