• Once Original, Now Common: When the hack first came out in 2008, it was regarded as revolutionary for having a fully-fledged new region and storyline, updated graphics, and Pokémon from Generation IV. Nowadays, in a world where GBA Pokémon hacking has advanced to the point of boasting an expanded Pokédex (without any existing Pokémon being replaced) and gameplay mechanics all the way up to the eighth generation, and new regions and storylines are a dime a dozen, Light Platinum is often alleged to have aged poorly, as its revolutionary elements became baseline, leaving it with nothing to stand out.
