• Awesome Art: The Impostor is impressively expressive despite the limitations of the 8-bit sprite style. Crewmate can also portray a wide variety of emotions just by his visor's shape changing.
• Awesome Music:
  • Remembrance gets you pumped for the final battle of Beyond the Bounds.
  • Apprehensive's panic-inducing fast pace fits a chase sequence with Tally.
• Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: As the votes are being tallied for the blue team's elimination in Nostalgia Never Leaves and it comes down to the final three, a fourth column with a single vote randomly pops up. As Koopa asks what that one's for, one of the voters shows up behind them, yelling "THE VOTE COUNTS!" before another voter asks what he's doing. What exactly this fourth column was supposed to be is never addressed and the rest of the episode goes on as normal.
• Ensemble Dark Horse: Steve manages to make it into the top six in Super Mario Super Challenge despite not being given significant focus within the series and inadvertently costing his team the match in one instance, though he's had a few close calls in the voting process.
• Just Here for Godzilla: Mario VS MX and Mario VS Pizza Tower have significantly higher views compared to other videos released at a similar time, with later videos featuring MX or Peppino in the thumbnails subsequently getting higher view counts as well.
• Nightmare Fuel: MX is mostly toned down from his original incarnation, but that doesn't prevent his close-up sprites from being any less unsettling.
• Nightmare Retardant:
  • Luggo has all the hallmarks of a creepy character, but his antics make him endearing.
  • Mario VS Lethal Company is mostly Played for Laughs despite the crew being chased down by horrific monsters.
