- Despair Event Horizon: Marvin shredding Paterson's notebook sure looks like this immediately after it happens. Paterson becomes even more quiet and reserved afterwards, but instead of being portrayed in a pensive way, it looks a lot more downright depressing. Thankfully, his conversation with the Japanese poet towards the end seems to snap him out of it.
