Well, it's resolved here as Captain Samalin being sick of his kind's elitism and turning against them…by turning them in to the Yeerks, almost like he was convinced by the Sharing. And he apparently reached this conclusion from Elfangor's words (when he was interrogating Ax).
- Better Than Canon: The few readers who do make comments se to think so, particularly the author's way of writing Cassie and not "protecting" her character like Applegate apparently did.
