- Fridge Logic: They didn't have to admit Ulysses killed Forbes at all; Jocasta's husband could have claimed to have done it to protect her. Sure, he's not particularly fearsome, but adrenaline helps with that.
- Nevertheless, people may have been suspicious of a one-armed man claiming he snapped someone's neck, so it's probably best that Ulysses left town.
