YMMV / Neighbors (1981)

• Broken Base: The decision by John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd to go against their usual typecasting and play Earl and Vic, respectively. Some, like Roger Ebert, consider it a brilliant casting idea that allowed the two to showcase their range and play against their usual roles to great effect. Others feel their performances in the film were underwhelming and the two would've been better off playing to their strengths by doing their usual character types.
