- Awesome Music:
- The score, an orchestral/synth hybrid by veteran 80s action composer Sylvester Levay. Two particular standouts are "High Jumpers" and "Back to the Sub".
- From the Gameboy game adaptation, the title theme is an almost freakishly good bit of 8-bit music for such a little-known release. Despite only needing to play for about 10 seconds or so before you start a new game, it lasts for almost 3 1/2 minutes without looping!
- Hilarious in Hindsight:
- This isn't the only time that Michael Biehn played a Navy SEAL team leader, and he already has experience playing one before.
- Dennis Haysbert later played the leader of another special forces team in The Unit.
- Memetic Mutation: "Ooh! Navy SEALs!" is the general reaction anyone has to this movie, even if the line was from another film.
- Retroactive Recognition:
- The platoon chief is Dennis Haysbert and his fiancé is S. Epatha Merkerson.
- Titus Welliver makes his first film appearance as the aptly named "Redneck in Bar"
