  • Diagnosed by the Audience: The main four have all been heavily analyzed by the general audience.
    • Velma's description of her difficulties with social situations, her need for black-and-white logic, and her blunt nature has caused the fanbase to believe she has undiagnosed autism.
    • Shaggy's twitchiness, anxiety, and tendency to use Scooby as an emotional support tool has caused fans to believe he has an undiagnosed anxiety disorder.
    • Fred is shown having flashbacks to him discovering his parents' bodies, causing fans to think he may have PTSD due to the event.
    • Some fans have taken Daphne's Stepford Smiler tendencies as her having depression and/or imposter syndrome.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Velma, another Darker and Edgier adaptation of the franchise that came out the next year, shares a few similarities with this show, such as Daphne's characterization as a Rich Bitch and one of the characters being a drug dealer. However, this rendition has been much more warmly received by fans.
  • Narm Charm: The series suffers very blatantly from Dawson Casting, however, the fanbase has taken it in stride due to the fact that the series is a passion project made by fans for fans. Every single actor is a fan of the franchise and it's very evident in how much effort they've put into the project.
  • Older Than They Think: Despite popular interpretation of the franchise, the Scooby-Doo series has gone Darker and Edgier, and has had the gang deal with demonic and mystical threats, including real monsters rather than just men in suits.
  • The Woobie: All four human members of the gang.
    • Velma's father was murdered and she had to watch her mother become an alcoholic obsessed with demonology as a result. She also makes it clear that she has difficulty in social situations and is implied to not have many, if any, friends.
    • Fred witnessed the immediate aftermath of his parents' murder, and is being bullied by some of his fellow jocks.
    • Shaggy suffers from anxiety, has trouble connecting to others, is bullied, seems to also be struggling with a drug addiction, and is being blackmailed by the jocks into remaining a dealer despite wanting to stop.
    • Daphne is trapped in a toxic social circle both at school, and at home. No place is truly safe for her to be herself, because of her mother's Stage Mom tendencies (which include insulting how much she eats).
