• Awesome Music: Mareridt is considered this, if not better than M.
• Critical Dissonance: Critics praised Myrkur, but the black metal community underwent Hype Backlash. This began to dwindle down following the release of the live album Mausoleum and then Mareridt.
• Growing the Beard: Mareridt is where the project's style became better and more embracing of a folk-like sound than the black metal sound that M had.
• Hype Backlash: Myrkur suffered this big time thanks to Relapse's endless promotion of M, which while getting her praise from professional critics, garnered nothing but bitching and hatred from the black metal community and even some accusations of her not being a black metal musician to begin with.
• Nightmare Fuel: Most, if not all of Mareridt, not helped by the information about Amalie's Creator Breakdown caused by sleep paralysis and the amount of hatred (and death threats) over the project lead to the album's creation.
