YMMV / My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic S8 E19 "Road to Friendship"

• Ensemble Dark Horse: Hoo'far's gotten a lot of popularity after the episode aired, being a friendly (and good-looking) Saddle Arabian who to some degree respects Trixie as a fellow magician and traveler. Also helps that he's a unicorn and opens up the fandom to differing tribes among Saddle Arabians.
• Fanfic Fuel:
  • The fact that Saddle Arabians have different tribes like Equestria instead of being earth pony exclusive as previously implied opens up new possibilities.
  • Who was Starlight's substitute guidance counselor?
  • Trixie's previous experiences in Somnambula.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: Cadence carrying Flurry Heart on her head in the prologue? This comic predates that idea by 3 years (Although it's not her in that).
• Les Yay: The song "We're Friendship Bound" is full of it, especially the lines "we're so tight, we can't move around". At one point, Starlight compares their situation to a Chained Heat plot, a trope that very often turns romantic (though she specifically compares it to a "buddy movie" type of thing, lessening the romantic element).
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot:
  • Despite this episode featuring a return to the village of Somnambula, the pony herself is completely absent. Not to mention that her being the Pillar of Hope would've made her the perfect middlemare to help Starlight and Trixie resolve their dispute.
  • Because of Starlight and Trixie's caravan/wagon dispute, the duo never reached Saddle Arabia, which the fans would had loved to see after 5 seasons worth of speculation since its namedrop debut in "Magic Duel".
