• Adorkable: Twilight explains how she feels about finally being called by the map as feeling a little "skiddly-bopty-boo." Who else would use terms like that?
• Genius Bonus: The McColts all being various shades of blue makes a lot more sense with the medical condition known as Methemoglobonemia.
• I Knew It!:
  • Since Pinkie Pie + Rainbow Dash and Rarity + Applejack were previously chosen by the map to go solve friendship problems, many fans predicted that Twilight and Fluttershy would be paired up on a similar venture at some point.
  • Many viewers figured from the episode title, which is a nod to the rivalry between the Hatfields and McCoys, that this episode was going to involve some of the ponies being summoned by the Cutie Map to end the feud.
• So Okay, It's Average: General consensus on this episode is that it isn't terrible, but it doesn't stand out much, either. Especially given how most of the season was building up to Twilight finally getting a map mission.
• Spoiled by the Format: Twilight's attempt to get the Hooffields and the McColts to talk their problems out sounds like it might actually work, if it didn’t come barely three quarters of the way into the episode.
