• Unintentionally Unsympathetic: Duncan isn’t a bad guy, but three out of his five failed romances are his own fault: he shouldn’t have eaten allergic food on his date with Olive, he probably should have sorted out his differences with Rhona, and his relationship with Natalie ended because he cheated on her with Gemma. The other two ended because of events beyond his control: Wendy was never interested in him, and Gemma cheated on him out of guilt.
