- Fan-Preferred Couple: Thanks to the above Ensemble Dark Horse, Chase x Iris is arguably the most fan-favorite couple.
- Les Yay: Episode 19, which is extremely evocative of "Stop Team Go", features this between an amnesiac Chase and Iris.
- Moral Event Horizon: Wanting to destroy an alien planet is bad enough, but what cements Number 9’s status as beyond redemption is when he shoots his nephew without showing any second thought or regret about it. Granted, it wasn't lethal in the end, but the implications are rather chilling.
- Ugly Cute: Several aliens have this kind of design. The most notable is perhaps the Alienometer (that's really its name!).
