  • Anvilicious: The music video for their cover of "Some People Change" hammers in the anti-racism message of the first verse by explicitly showing the subject as an ex-member of the Ku Klux Klan that breaks down in tears and burns his robes during the moment where he begs God to save him from the hatred he's let define him. It then shows him with a look of relief as he watches the robes consumed by the flames before standing as a light washes over him, literally burning the racism from him.
  • Covered Up:
    • Most radio listeners are more familiar with their version of "Merry Christmas from the Family" than Robert Earl Keen's original.
    • "Some People Change" was originally an album cut from Kenny Chesney's When the Sun Goes Down.
    • "Long Line of Losers" is a cover of Texas country singer Kevin Fowler.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: Troy Gentry sings about seeing a 20-year-old man dying suddenly in "Roll with Me", and pushes message of self-improvement and enjoying life in "While You're Still Young" and "Better Me" — all messages that can seem this after his sudden death in September 2017.
  • Heartwarming Moments: The message of "Something to Be Proud Of", which is about doing the best you can with what you have.
