YMMV / Monk S6E8 "Mr. Monk and the Wrong Man"

• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Wouldn't it have been more interesting if Monk really did put the wrong man away and was forced to come to terms with his mistake? Early in the episode, it looks like the plot could have reasonably gone in either direction, and Barton's blunt comments to Monk are cruel but unintentionally quite sensible.
  Barton: You're not here for me, you're here for yourself. The pain, the guilt, it's crushing you... You want me to give you absolution? You want me to release you? Please. Sorry, detective. It's not my job. Why don't you go talk to a priest?
