  • Leland and Karen's reconciliation doesn't save their marriage, as she files for divorce in Season Four.
  • Monk parallels Stottlemeyer's situation with his own multiple times, and during the climactic search for evidence, he suggests the captain let Randy hold onto his gun, saying that he would use it if he were in Stottlemeyer's position. In the finale, Stottlemeyer ends up rushing after Monk when he finds out who killed Trudy, justifiably worried that he might murder the culprit.
