YMMV / Makoto Mobius

Go To

  • Les Yay: One of the endings implies that Mikio is in love with Makoto. She refuses to accept her friend's death and forces the protagonist to save her by committing suicide. This was supported by the prequel doujinshi, Mikio’s Nightmare, where in Mikio’s POV, Mikio would do anything for Makoto - to the point of brutally killing Makoto’s father, just to make Makoto smile, again.
  • The Woobie: Makoto's mysterious death is the focal point of the game. When Watarou reads through her diary, he learns that she had been suffering from depression for an unknown amount of time and hasn't told anyone about her condition. The only person she came close to telling anything about her life was Watarou, someone she barely interacted with until the last day of her life. In the first Bad End, she had no problem with going through a double suicide with her father. While the game never tells the player what the source of her depression (heavily implied by the fact she had a dysfunctional home life), it's quite sad to go through the mindset of someone who has given up on life.
  • Tear Jerker: It's implied that Makoto has suffered from depression for a long time. In the first Bad End and presumably what happened originally, her father convinces her to die with him. It's unsure if he kills his own daughter or she takes her own life. Either way, her father is unable to take his own life and he agonizes over his daughter's death.
