- They Copied It, So It Sucks!: Make Me A Millionaire was almost a carbon copy of the Florida Lottery's Flamingo Fortune, specifically the second format which was used from 1997-99 and produced by Sony - Lucky Penny was essentially a watered-down Flamingo Diceway, Safe Cracker was pretty much the same as Break the Piggy Bank, and California Cool was basically the same as Florida's Famous. The major difference is that while Flamingo had its contestants chosen on-air (through a round pachinko-ish game), MMAM didn't.
- Gary Dawson (son of Richard Dawson) produced both Flamingo and MMAM, but whereas the former had its third game slot alternate between Florida's Famous and Crack the Code (a game never used by MMAM), the latter used the same games in the same order throughout its 18-month run.
