"What an Idiot!" is now Flame Bait.

* WhatAnIdiot: Andre's lack of patience, plus his habit of blurting everything out, always get him into some kind of trouble. [[spoiler:Especially with Leon.]]

*** But Lady Claire really takes the cake. When you fight her, at the beginning of her turn, she'll say "Please, be careful" and then she proceeds walking up to your team and wipe half of it out with one single attack! The worst part? Before she attacks you, she says "Take this... Please?".

* CompleteMonster: [[SinisterMinister Cardinal Kingston]] is [[TheDragon the right-hand man]] of the Pope and the cruelest character in this lighthearted game. Wanting to help awaken the evil god Zehaal in order to take its power for himself, Kingston creates a rumor that witches, the forces best able to defeat Zehaal, are evil and must be persecuted; at the same time, he is masterminding tests and experiments to control Zehaal, experiments which result in cruel torture and loss of life. Wanting to hide his true nature, he makes some of the most corrupt people into key figures of his religion, leading to chaos as these figures run rampant with their abuses of power. When [[TheHero Alph]] and his group learn about the truth of their religion, Kingston immediately has them hunted down in order to silence them. Throughout the journey to free the world from this fake order, Kingston makes a [[RobotGirl mechanical witch]] named Iris who annihilated armies of Holy Knights to keep his secret; betrays his close allies by sending them to their death; and made a deal with an agent of Zehaal to send demons to his enemies while helping him awaken their lord to cause the end of the world. Greedy and treacherous are the best way to describe Kingston, a [[VileVillainSaccharineShow dark villain]] for such a cheerful and simple game.

** The last fight against Iris, she has a ridiculously powerful attack that can do 300-400 damage to multiple party members when can pretty much one shot your weaker party members, on top of that you're in a pretty enclosed space making it hard to spread your party out and theres archers off to the sides and soldiers in the middle which while not much of a threat by themselves can finish off any characters that might have survived iris's signature attack, Hopefully your healers are up to par because you're going to need every ounce of healing you can get to survive this fight.

*** This one is actually explained. [[spoiler:His childhood friend Iris was "killed" by Witches. OF course, that's just a cover-up, she was actually turned into an artificial Witch herself. The first point explains his racism, the second why he finally outs himself as a defector.]]

This Troper cleanup

** [[ThisTroper I]] actually levelled Cecille to level 50 in the first battle of the game using heals and some potions. This was followed by prompt disappointment upon discovery that Cecille's terrible movement stats means she will never be in the action unless the action comes to her. She spent the rest of the game as a healer until the much appreciated class change despite the fact that she could oneshot everything in sight with a simple whack. The disappointment was magnified by the later knowledge that relationship items are much faster to grind and incredibly [[DiscOneNuke overpowered at the start of the game]].

*** Really? [[Tropers/EndarkCuli This Troper]] believes that [[spoiler:he thought the Witches were responsible for why Iris was an orphan. By the time he began to think his loyalty to the Church was misguided, Heath had to act like a tough guy to Alph to avoid blowing his cover, and be able to find evidence proving whether the Church really is evil or not]]. I think Heath himself says something about that last part once you [[spoiler:re-recruit him]].
**** Who didn't think they were setting that up? But they did nothing with it. He's just GoodAllAlong.

** The battle versus the Witch of Immolation in Jeidath. First off, parts of the ground are [[GeoEffects Thunder element]], which powers up the already-powerful Gul and Gal. Second, the fire Hikopins know Heatwave, a powerful fire attack that can hit up to 5 characters and is ranged. Third, the level is split two ways so you can send your party one way or send one group one way and the other group the other. If a majority of enemies get to one party, everyone is screwed. Not only that, both your healers are Water-element, and are therefore weak to Fire, and their bad Resist/Guard and Movement stats make them just lag behind, unable to get to the front where the more damaged members are likely to be. Oh, and your healers are horribly slow, going after pretty much everybody. (The third one is Light-element and has better stats overall, but she is still just as likely to get burned if she gets ganged up on.) While this battle can be beaten easily with a bit of level grinding, luck and strategy, it certainly trips up players that get to it the first time.

* TearJerker: [[spoiler:Iris's]] death.

** It's definitely a YourMileageMayVary one. This troper for one (and he knows plenty more) who sees Priel as a walking, talking CrowningMomentOfFunny making machine.
*** TakeAThirdOption: Yes, Priel is an extremely grating and dislikable character. She's also pretty high up on the antagonist food chain, so perhaps [[TheyPlottedAPerfectlyGoodWaste this was intentional]].

** The stuff they say during battles. Theo's "I won't let my brother down" when at half HP isn't bad on his own, however, when Alph (said brother) is already dead, it turns into this.
