- Hilarious in Hindsight: The author's visions of gems lower than Pearls in the Homeworld caste becomes this with the introduction of the Pebbles, who are very similar to the Corals.
- Harsher in Hindsight:
- Yellow Pearl trolling Yellow Diamond in the gem equivalent of Youtube was hilarious, but apparently Yellow Diamond treated her so badly she joined the rebels despite not even liking their cause so much.
- Matte Lilac being treated kindly by her Morganite is this, in contrast to Rhodonite, who apparently also worked for a Morganite (who isn't necessarily a scientist) in the past before she was discovered and replaced.
