- Broken Base: Any of the Jay Joyce-produced albums. While he's usually one of the most lauded producers in Nashville for his Signature Style, some people have felt that he is a poor fit for LBT, given that he downplays the harmonies in favor of vocal filters (most notably the reverb on "Pontoon") and creative arrangements. There's also the fact that the label seems to be pushing almost exclusively for Karen on lead vocals in lieu of their usual Vocal Tag Team, as an overwhelming majority of the Capitol releases have been sung by Karen.
- Ending Fatigue: The end of "Boondocks", with the "You get a line, I'll get a pole / We'll go fishin' in the crawfish hole / Five card poker on Saturday night / Church on Sunday morning" goes on and on and on. Mercifully, it was cut way down for the radio edit.
- Ho Yay: "Girl Crush" is full of this, with lines like "I want to taste her lips/yeah because they taste like you" from a female singer.
- Just Here for Godzilla: A number of people just listen to "Better Man" because it was written by Taylor Swift.
- Signature Song: To country audiences, either "Pontoon", "Tornado", "Boondocks", or "Girl Crush"; to mainstream audiences, indisputably the latter.
