- Adaptation Displacement: Or at least title displacement. When you hear "I Sing the Body Electric," you're probably going to think of the Ray Bradbury story, the episode of The Twilight Zone (1959), or the song from Fame, not the poem by Walt Whitman.
- Hilarious in Hindsight: Today, it's kind of impossible to read the passage in "Song of Myself" where Whitman refers to his testicles as "my life-lumps" without thinking of a certain Black Eyed Peas song.
