• The Woobie: Poor, poor Lucy. She’s only a toddler but she’s treated horribly by the adults around her save for her nanny (who ends up falsely accused of abusing her by the mother who actually did the deed). She’s slapped by a bitchy old nanny who has no patience for small children, her mother’s boyfriend doesn’t seem to like her, and her mother loses her temper with Lucy’s crying and shakes her hard enough to not only cause her brain damage that leads to a coma but breaks her ribs. Turning off life support is considered a Mercy Kill due to how much agony she’s in.
