• Alternate Character Interpretation: Depending on the route and your own personal perspective, Director Sezaki can come across as either a morally bankrupt man motivated purely by his desire for money and social prestige, or as a father going to extreme measures in an effort to protect his son. The game mostly leaves it open-ended as to which interpretation is closer to the truth.
• Base-Breaking Character: The fandom doesn't generally lend itself to flame wars and vitriol, but there is a distinct division between fans who consider the protagonist of Kiss of Revenge their least favorite Voltage game protagonist, feeling that her fixation on revenge and her actions in pursuit of it make her unsympathetic and hard to identify with, and fans who consider her one of their most favorite protagonists because the revenge plot makes her much more focused and motivated than the protagonists of Voltage's other romance games.
• Stoic Woobie: Issei. Socially awkward, no personal life at all, constantly driving himself for the sake of his patients and keeping the memories of his failures fresh, suffering from insomnia and nightmares to the point he needs chemical assistance to sleep... and the protagonist plans to manipulate him, work her way into his trust and affection, and then betray and murder him. And he's willing to let her.
