YMMV / King Of The Hill S 4 E 10 Hillennium

Go To

  • Accidental Aesop: If you use any kind of solvents, such as varnish, be sure to use them in properly ventilated areas. Hank finds this out the hard way when he uses varnish to fix the grandfather clock in his garage, which is totally closed off and the resulting smells knock him unconscious.
  • Harsher in Hindsight:
    • In the whack-a-mole dream sequence, Hank has a talk with Tom Landry about how he needs to stop dreading the future and enjoy life as the times enter the New Millennium. Then two months later (and a month into 2000), Tom Landry passes away, which declined him a chance to enjoy the 2000s.
    • Bobby and Hank hoard toilet paper in anticipation of Y2K disruption. Twenty years later, toilet paper hoarding and shortages would become a serious problem in the US during the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Memetic Mutation: Hank Hill's dazed behavior just before his whack-a-mole dream sequence. Fans have taken it as him getting high off varnish fumes.
  • Unintentional Period Piece: A Christmas Episode centering around the Millennium Bug hysteria could only come from 1999, with the frenzy being in full force around the time.
