- Older Than They Think: Gypsy Joe, one of the innovators of "Garbage Wrestling" who debuted in the 1950s, is widely credited as being the first man to deliver a diving splash from the top of a ring. Of course that was before cable allowed for national broadcasting plus no major promotion stateside was interested in Joe after the death of the territories.
