• Moral Event Horizon: Betsy Bonner Powell did and said a lot of terrible things to many people over the years, ranging from petty potshots to life-ruining stuff. However, the moment that cements her as truly, irredeemably evil is when it's revealed she knew her husband was sexually abusing her thirteen year old daughter (which he continued to do for years) and didn't care. From that moment, her own daughter says that Betsy was dead to her.
• Paranoia Fuel: Almost everything to do with Blue Eyes, the man who killed Greg Moran. Imagine you're just going about your life when out of the blue, a man you've seemingly never met comes up to you in a playground and shoots your spouse dead, then disappears after threatening your son that he will kill both of you next, with the only description you have of this man is that he has blue eyes. This is the situation Laurie Moran finds herself in after her husband is killed. Laurie and her family spend five years wondering if and when Blue Eyes will come after them; they have no idea where he is, who he is, or why he's even doing this. Unbeknownst to them, Blue Eyes has been stalking the family for months now, including hacking into Leo's phone to spy on all his conversations. He's followed Laurie numerous times without her realizing, including sitting behind her on the bus on multiple occasions. At one point, he rollerblades right past Leo and Timmy, getting a thrill out of knowing that he can get so close to them without them knowing who he is. To top it all off, it's revealed that Blue Eyes is doing all of this to get revenge on Leo for arresting him decades ago. The idea of someone from your past, who was so insignificant in your life you don't even remember them, feeling such hatred and obsession for you that years later they try to wipe out your entire family is extremely paranoia-inducing.
