- Accidental Aesop: There's a lot to be read into the episode's depiction of Santa's legacy among the people of Earth.
- The way "Santa"'s return is meant to resemble the Second Coming of Jesus and his followers following his every commend with blind obedience can be read as a satire on how the commercial, secular aspects of Christmas are treated with more sanctity than its initial religious purposes.
- Alternatively, the way Zim preys on the humans' blind devotion to a sacred symbol for evil ulterior motives can also be read as a satire on how easily people can be exploited by the promises made by religion and whoever is using it to do so.
- Hilarious in Hindsight: Professor Membrane shooting out a laser out of his hand towards the door. Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus would later make this random gag canon by giving Membrane cybernetic hands that shoot lasers.
- Strawman Has a Point: While Professor Membrane's hatred of Santa stemming from him receiving a present that spawns never-ending socks is played off as Disproportionate Retribution, having the socks spawn endlessly to the point that they could've nearly suffocated the young Membrane to death paints Santa in a rather sadistic light, so his hatred of Santa may not be so unfounded after all.
