• Complete Monster: So'unga is a sword housing the evil soul of a dragon. Possessing those who wield it to slaughter all about them, So'unga was controlled by Inuyasha and Sessshomaru's father, the Great Dog Demon, until his death. Returning to briefly possess Inuyasha and trying to destroy modern-day Tokyo, So'unga revives the vicious demon-hating warrior Takemaru to slaughter numerous men to steal their souls and revive them as zombies, enhancing Takemaru's negativity and prejudice towards demons against Inuyasha and Sesshomaru for revenge. Even after Takemaru is dead, So'unga is intent on opening the path to the underworld and annihilating all that lives.
• Even Better Sequel: This is probably the most popular of the Inuyasha feature films, as it provides some intriguing backstory for Inuyasha, Sesshomaru and their father Inu no Taisho, and has a great villain double act with the flawed but ultimately repentant Takemaru and the thoroughly evil So-unga.
• Heartwarming in Hindsight: Before Inu no Taisho goes to see Izayoi as she is pregnant with Inuyasha, he asks Sesshomaru if he has someone to protect, something his son denies. Eventually, he does have someone to protect in the form of Rin, whom he had resurrected from the dead, and has since been protecting. Come Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon not only is he protecting her from certain death with the help of the Tree of Ages', he also started a family with her. Like Father, Like Son.
