• It Was His Sled: It's hard to read about this series in social media without finding out that Hansung dies.
• Just Here for Godzilla: Many fans of BTS only started the series or even kept watching just because of Hansung, V's debut acting role. Several stopped watching after Hansung's death.
• Romantic Plot Tumor: One of the reasons the main love triangle was disliked by many viewers was how much focus it kept receiving, occupying a lot of time that could have been better spent on the political plot or on developing the much more interesting Hwarang ensemble.
• So Okay, It's Average: While not necessarily terrible (the acting and chemistry of the main ensemble cast in particular got the most praise), it didn't exactly wow audiences. Its writing was its most criticized aspect, with the main complaints being an unfocused story, abundant plotholes, underdeveloped (though entertaining) characters and subplots, and a tacked-on love triangle that took too much screentime.
