• Hilarious in Hindsight: Tommy gets into an argument with his dad, who believes that his son spends too much time playing video games since he returned from Iraq. A few years later, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 came out, which has a sequence set in Afghanistan which seemingly recreates the basketball game and fateful ambush that Tommy and his fellow soldiers experienced in Iraq. Tommy himself also physically resembles Alex Shepard from Silent Hill: Homecoming down to his similar haircut, facial features and wardrobe.
• Jerkass Woobie: Specialist Jamal Aiken. Falls and suffers a chronic back injury, is dumped by his girlfriend, and is later denied VA benefits after being discharged. Still pretty much treats everyone else like garbage, including a Vietnam veteran who tries to be sympathetic towards him.
