• Growing the Beard: Much like with Heroes Reborn: The Avengers and Walt Simonson, things were considered to have improved once Marvel kicked out Rob Liefeld and gave the book to Wildstorm, who gave writing duties to James Robinson.
• Harsher in Hindsight: A Sons of the Serpents-controlled LMD of Nick Fury told a series of lies to Steve and Bill Clinton that said Steve objected to the Atomic Bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and was put in cryostatis because of it and then thawed out to serve in The Korean War and The Vietnam War before being put back on ice after the brainwashing would buckle. These lies became this because of both Captain America: Winter Soldier (where it was revealed that Bucky Barnes was not only alive, but would frequently put in cryostatis, then thawed out by the Soviet Union to carry out hits for them) and the controversial "Ice" (which attempted to retcon that Steve in the main Marvel Universe really was put on ice by the government, with falsified memories of an encounter with Heinrich Zemo, for objecting to the use of the atomic bombs).
