YMMV / Hazbin Hotel S1E1 "Overture"

  • Alternative Character Interpretation: When Adam said that he'd never made a mistake in his life, did he actually believe he was saying the truth, or did he know he was wrong and wanted to hide it due to his pride? The opening doesn't mention him eating from the Tree of Knowledge, so he might not realize that he's bad.
  • Harsher in Hindsight:
    • Angel claiming that his body was "made to be exploited" becomes more than a little uncomfortable after "Masquerade" goes into detail on how Valentino's actual exploitation of Angel's body has left him feeling that his self-worth is determined by how sexually desirable he is.
    • Angel's "You're doing great, Vagina!" quip to Vaggie becomes substantially less funny after learning that Vaggie deliberately pronounces her name with hard "g"'s because Adam originally gave it to her as a vulgar slang word for "vagina".
