• Catharsis Factor: After she attempted to murder her own stepdaughter in various underhanded schemes (including roping Tommy Lucchese into her plans), it's nothing short of satisfying to see Olympia receive comeuppance from Chin in the penultimate episode.
• Moral Event Horizon: Will Harvey crosses it in Season 3 when he kidnaps Elise Johnson and forces her to relapse on duji against her will, all to get Bumpy back under his thumb.
• Spiritual Successor: Or, rather, Spiritual Prequel to American Gangster.
• The Woobie: Stella Gigante. She's stuck in a violent mob family with a father who constantly ends up responsible for the deaths of her various lovers, and all her attempts to flee from the criminal life she's entangled always end in failure and more pain.
