• Quirky Work: It is safe to say that Giraffes On Horseback Salad is quirky (to put it politely), no matter what the medium. While the core of Giraffes is a straightforward love story, the actual presentation — heavily loaded with Salvador Dalí's Surrealism — is not for everyone. Even Groucho Marx turned down the idea, stating simply "It won't play." In the end, it could be argued that Giraffes works even better as a graphic novel, as readers of Sequential Art would be more receptive to the trippy imagery that permeates throughout.
