YMMV / Ghost Teller

Go To

  • Fanon: While not outright confirmed (mostly implied), readers like to believe that the ghost are telling their stories of when they were still alive. Commonly, the Reaper is believed to be the husband from "The Story Of The Woman", the Gumiho is Misun from "The Story Of Their Love", the Stringy-Haired Ghost Girl is Aram from "The True Story of The Girl", and the boy is Father Kim's deceased little brother from "The Story Of That Place". Season two shows the ghost having flashbacks and seeing what the lives of the people around them were like after the main characters' death so this is at least confirmed.
  • Jerkass Woobie: Father Kim maybe a messed up Consummate Liar, but flashback to his childhood shows that he once lived in an abusive household which stemmed his messed up thought about love.
  • Magnificent Bastard: "A Story from Afar": Runia is an ambitious girl who dreams of stardom. Taking advantage of a fight that occurs between her friends Taejun and Shinhoo which leaves Taejun dead and Shinhoo gravely injured, Runia helps cover for Shinhoo by putting the blame completely on Taejun. Figuring she can use this to become famous, Runia leaks footage of Taejun and Shinhoo fighting to the press and gets them interested in her, with her playing the part of charismatic victim to lure in an audience to allow her dreams of fame to come true. Runia even thanks her friend Shinhoo as he's dying in the hospital for giving her an opportunity, and promises to keep his secrets to the end.
  • Too Bleak, Stopped Caring : A lot of the characters with the exception of the main ghost and a handful of kind supporting characters such as Sister Maria and the disabled boy from "The Story Of Their Love" didn't get any sympathy from the readers. Though this can be an intended reaction due to the webcomic's exploration of the terrifying sides of humanity.
  • The Woobie:
    • Poor Aram just wants to be loved and remembered but her best friend's jealousy of her fame lead to her spreading fake rumors that mentally scarred her and eventually cost her life.
    • The husband from "The Story Of The Woman". He means well, but ended up being killed for his wife's paranoia.
