• Alternate Character Interpretation: Stefan. An undereducated kid indoctrinated into his father's insanity who does not understand what he's doing? Or faithful servant of his God going forth to spread the Apocalypse exactly as She wanted? Does he grant Gabi's request for a Mercy Kill or not? If not, could he not bring himself to kill her because he ws having feelings for her, or does he believe she deserves her fate, or is he just scared to go against what he perceives as the will of his God? If Gabi was the one drawing his knife with her last remaining strength, did he stop her from killing herself, or did she no longer have the strength or range-of-motion to do so? If Stefan not only refused to kill Gabi, but deliberately kept her alive, why? All in all, the film's final moments raise a lot of questions, leaving the audience to sort out the answers for themselves.
