• Hilarious in Hindsight: After Zoidberg reads out Calculon's name in place of the actual fifth nominee, two Academy clerks off-stage react with alarm, but decide to keep quiet "like with Marisa Tomei". Tomei's supposedly winning an Oscar because of presenter Jack Palance being too drunk to remember the actual winner and the Academy being too proud to admit that any mistake could happen in the ceremony was already proven to be an urban myth, but the colossal screw-up that saw La La Land mistakenly named as Best Picture winner instead of Moonlight in 2017 proved once and for all that the Academy in fact does not keep quiet when something goes wrong.
• Trapped by Mountain Lions: Fry and Leela's sub-plot in the latter stages of the episode has absolutely nothing to do with the rest of the story, and doesn't even have any real jokes aside from a rather bizarre Take That! at Sylvester Stallone, and a few about the Los Angeles subway system that'll be pretty meaningless to anyone who doesn't actually live there.
