  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Gladys was one of the only major heroines to not get an ending to herself in the original game, doesn’t have her own art gallery on the relevant page, and is the only one who potentially doesn't even show up on a major story branch, but between her design (which bears heavy resemblance to fellow Ensemble Dark Horse Hell Knight Ingrid from the Taimanin franchise), her characterization as a dignified general and warrior who is also an enthusiastic partner who knows what she wants and how to get it, and her story role as a deadly and clever opponent (and later ally once Lute wins her over), she became one of the most popular. The sequels both gave her a lot of screentime and prominent presence throughout the story (to the point that several of the other heroines are moved Out of Focus as a result), and the anime literally ends right after her story arc does.
  • Vanilla Protagonist: A common criticism of Princess Luceria is that all the other heroines have got "hooks" to them, such as Isis's Rivalry as Courtship, Shamsiel's playful and impish attitude mixed with being more aware of what's going on than Lute himself, Emeralia's cold and manipulative side that slowly turns to true affection, Roxanne's difficult prior relationship, and Gladys's contrast between her tough general side and lovey-dovey private life. Luceria is just a sweet, sheltered girl who likes hanging out with and/or having sex with the boy she has a crush on and isn't particularly involved in or talented at politics outside of occasionally showing off that she's not spineless or weak. Arguably the most interesting thing about her is that she's an effective Morality Pet that's the first major hint of humanity for Emeralia. Vanilla isn't a bad flavor; she isn't disliked per se, but she's generally not a big favorite either.
