• Harsher in Hindsight:
  • Darril's arc may remind players of what's going on in Venezuela, especially with the plight of the Venezuelans due to a collapsing economy, US-backed sanctions and several failed coup attempts, and President Maduro (and Chavez before him) having some suspicious deals with China, Iran and Russia.
  • Elsa's arc is one for national security tensions between Russia and the rest of Europe, given the Russian annexation of Crimea in 2014 following the Euromaidan protests in Ukraine, and the presidential election crisis in Belarus in 2020 with the potential intervention of Russian security forces if Minsk can't handle the protests.
  • After it was revealed that the Second Huffman War was a conspiracy between Zaftra and Sakata Industries to develop the B-Type and S-Type devices with the help of some corrupt OCU and UCS officials, Zaftra was blockaded with heavy sanctions as a sort of restrained retaliation for all of the soldiers and innocent civilians that were killed in a senseless war whose true purpose was to provide a live testing ground for these unethical experimental projects. Fast forward to 2022 and Russia is now being hit with numerous sanctions for starting a unilateral war of aggression by invading Ukraine.
