• One-Scene Wonder: The unidentified British passenger portrayed by Hugh Laurie is surprisingly popular despite only appearing in two scenes. The factors which contribute to the passenger's popularity are his delightfully sardonic portrayal by Laurie, coupled with the fact that the passenger calls Rachel out for her selfish behaviour, namely her plan to meddle in Ross and Emily's impending nuptials, a sentiment which resonates with modern audiences (and Phoebe).
  • Retroactive Recognition: He's also hugely popular for going on to become Dr House.
• Strawman Has a Point: Rachel isn't wrong about Ross' romance with Emily being rushed because he was on the rebound from her, and nothing can validate this more than the infamous Wrong-Name Outburst during his wedding vows.
