YMMV / Friends at the Table

Go To

  • Arc Fatigue: Twilight Mirage is the longest season by far, clocking in at almost 70 episodes (compared to the seasonal average of roughly 40). While certainly not an unpopular season, it's rarely mentioned without also referencing its sheer length - even among the cast of Friends at the Table.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: An in-show example with Hymn, a security guard who bonds with Aria Joie in the COUNTER/Weight prequel series and became unexpectedly popular among the cast. He was originally created as a nameless and one-note NPC, but his large amount of screentime resulted in his character developing and becoming much more fleshed-out than was anticipated.
  • Growing the Beard:
    • Autumn in Hieron takes a little while to really get going, and the relatively poor audio quality of the early episode doesn't help matters. Things pick up in the season's second half with the Holiday episode, followed by the Nacre arc, where the cast better find their footing.
    • For the podcast as a whole, Autumn in Hieron is followed by COUNTER/Weight, which remains one of the more popular seasons, and launched the Divine Cycle - the sci-fi saga that comprises roughly half of the podcast's runtime (eclipsing the Seasons of Hieron saga).
