- Awesome Music: People who associate Eric Clapton with either trippy psychedelic rock, laid-back country-rock or middle-aged white-guy blues will be startled to hear his 19-year-old self absolutely shredding on this record, insofar as it was possible for an English guitarist to shred in 1964.
- Fan Nickname: Eric "Slowhand" Clapton, as namechecked in the introduction. It sounds incongruous in this context, since for much of this album, Clapton is playing a mile a minute, but it comes from the way he used to often break strings and change them mid-set, causing the audience to set up a Slow Clap (which in turn is a Stealth Pun: Slow Hand Clap(ton).)
