YMMV / Family Guy S 6 E 10 Play It Again Brian

• Designated Hero: Brian's attraction to Lois. Peter’s Jerkass tendencies are exaggerated in order to make Brian look better by comparison, but Brian still tries to seduce his best friend's wife. Brian's attempt to get Lois drunk and throw himself at her is brushed off as him loving her too much, despite the fact that his aggression borders on Attempted Rape. His actions throughout the episode indicate that Brian merely lusts after Lois rather than being in love with her, yet he still implies in his argument with Peter that he sees himself as more deserving of Lois, and the fact that he instigates a fight with Peter, after the latter rightly points out his past romantic failures, doesn't help matters.
• Strawman Has a Point: Peter pointing out how horrible Brian is in relationships. As he puts it, Brian couldn't even get Jillian to take him back and she was "dumber than Lou Ferrigno".
• Unintentionally Sympathetic: Peter is made out to be a Jerkass negligent husband, but it's easier to side with him after Lois tells him what happened with Brian. When he confronts Brian at the bar about how betrayed he feels about him trying sleep with his wife (or rather, trying to rape her), Brian tells Peter that he doesn't deserve Lois, due to treating her horribly. While it is true enough that Peter is a poor excuse for a husband, Peter rightfully states that Brian has no right to criticize him, especially because Brian is incredibly bad at keeping his own relationships going, because he very rarely treat his partners with genuine respect and is more interested in sex.
