  • Unintentionally Sympathetic: Peter. While Peter doesn’t usually behave like an adult, he honestly doesn’t deserve to be treated like he isn’t one in this episode as he does in other episodes since all he did was buy a secret credit card and spend it on whatever he wants. While this is an example of superfluous use of money, at the end of the day, what he did with the credit card was his own business. That and it was kind of his friends’ fault he decided to get one in the first place and at the episode’s start, he did show some degree of being responsible with money as he refused to use the credit card he had to avoid upsetting Lois. So in a way, him defying Lois was utterly justified.
  • Unintentionally Unsympathetic: Lois. While she had the right to be angry with Peter for overspending with a secret credit card, she had no right to ground him since Peter is a grown adult capable of making his own decisions. Granted, Peter isn’t the most mature adult and most of his decisions end up disastrously wrong, but he’s still an adult nevertheless and she herself is no better at making disastrous decisions and not acting her age.
