  • Awesome Music: The soundtrack as a whole has been praised heavily and is one of the better points of the game in reviews. This is almost a given as it was composed by Motoi Sakuraba.
  • Demonic Spiders: The floating spiked class of enemy. They cannot be damaged by close-range attacks, and magic doesn't do much against them. If you don't have a long or mid-ranged physical attacker in your party? Good luck. They also explode when they die, damaging any characters too close.
  • Game-Breaker: The Grim Reaper's Level 5 attack, "Close to Dawn." Equip it as the only attack in a combo chain and watch almost anything in the game short of a couple of Speed Run challenges die quickly and easily.
  • Good Bad Bugs: The final Speed Run challenge against Yamatoga requires beating him within 15 minutes. However, taking down the HP on his main body before all of his sub-parts are destroyed will cause him to revive, but the clock stops there and you then have all the time in the world to destroy him completely.
  • Low-Tier Letdown: The Gunner class in general is considered low tier for being hard to use and having long wait times that hinder making combos.
  • So Okay, It's Average: The game released and everyone promptly forgot about it since it doesn't really do anything new for the genre despite having a fun battle system.
  • Tear Jerker:
    • The characters hearing their families' voices and realizing how much they're missed as they gather their Essence Crystals.
    • Yui learning about how people reacted to what ended up being her Heroic Sacrifice and being recognized as a real hero causes her to break down sobbing.
    • Kanata breaking down in the "Curse of Immortality" ending when he reunites with Mayura and has his My God, What Have I Done? moment, followed by her waking from her coma courtesy of Yamatoga.
