YMMV / Evangelion: You Do (Not) Belong

• Diagnosed by the Audience: It's apparent that Michael has issues, to say the least. He constantly puts up a fake smile when he's near Jade even when feeling miserable, prefers being alone in groups, nearly killing Touji in anger, doing the same thing to his brother, and is extremely aversive to interacting with other people. Most of these traits seem to lead him having either Sociopathy or Borderline Personality Disorder, though whether he has either of these disorders is unknown.
• Jerkass Woobie: Michael is a pretty big asshole, to say the least. He constantly badmouths Misato, is incredibly mean to Asuka without giving her a chance, is extremely quick to physical violence and verbal insults when angry, and has little empathy or guilt when it comes to killing others or attempting to kill others. However, it's clear the abuse from his mother has taken a toll on his sanity, with him being constantly accused of doing things making him perceive himself as a monster, thus being more detached when it comes to other people. He also does try and attempt to protect people he cares about, such as Asuka and Rei, though both end up comatose and dead because of his actions, respectively. In fact, he can't even talk about his problems without stopping himself, further isolating himself rather than simply confessing to how he feels. For all the questionable acts, Michael is simply a broken child who can only act on violence since it's the only thing he feels.
