The most blatant giveaways are characters in ChromaKey having noticeably different lightning than other characters, and sometimes the green outline of the removed background could be seen. The instances of El Chapulín Colorado using the ''Chicharra Paralizadora'' were sometimes worse, as the "special effect" used to achieve the actors looking still was ''the actors actually just standing still''.

* HeartwarmingInHindsight: The ending of the "La función debe continuar" six-part saga. Its [[AnAesop aesop]] is that the end of the physical existence of a work or an author does not truly mean it's lost forever. Given that saga was among the final episodes of ''El Chapulín Colorado'',[[note]]Although it eventually came back as a sketch on ''Series/{{Chespirito}}''[[/note]] and with Chespirito's own death, he has been proven right.

* AcceptableTargets:
** Soccer ("Futbol") referees, who are described as either crooks or blind. Most notably, in various episodes, there was a referee in the '''famous criminals''' section in a wax museum in one episode, El Chapulín finding another referee suspicious of being a smuggler just because of his clothes, and when La Bruja Baratuja tries to turn a woman into something disgusting, she eventually settles for a soccer referee - the woman is horrified and El Chapulín interprets it as wanting to make her blind.
** Similarly, soccer commentators, often described as being annoying or stupid. "Más pesado que un cronista de fútbol"[[note]]A {{pun}}. "Pesado" means both "heavy" and "annoying"[[/note]] is a common phrase in the series.
** Game shows are often described as brainwashers. When the pirates Alma Negra and Matalote describe in one episode several torture methods they use, El Chapulín was mortified to learn that one of them was forcing the victim to watch game shows on TV 24/7.

* MemeticMutation: Many of Chapulin's catch-phrases became staples of Latin-American pop culture. Namely "¡No contaban con mi astucia!" ("They did not count on my cleverness!").

* AuthorsSavingThrow: While ''WesternAnimation/ElChavoAnimado'' was controversial, [[SeasonalRot especially the later seasons]], the animated version of this show was much better received. Especially because both shows had surreal and nonsensical stories, but they actually do match ''Chapulin'' 's tone.
